The Flint Hills Flyers motto shall be identical to that of the National Antique Airplane Association to "Keep the Antiques Flying".

Flint Hills Flyers History

The "Flint Hills Flyers" was established in Mahattan and Junction City, Kansas in 1976, as a local chapter of the National Antique Airplane Association, for the preservation, restoration and flying of antique airplanes.

The main person credited with founding the Flint Hills Flyers, Inc. was Charles Hall. At the time he was one of the few members who owned antique airplanes and then others became interested in antique airplanes. The club started out with 12 members and rose to about 70 members in the mid 1980s while now there about 49 members.

The club was initially based out of the Junction City Airport, but in 1996 the Flint Hills Flyers received a 'home of their own' due the generosity of club member Leo Walter.
