Free Press Started 10-Yfears Ago Today
Ten years ago today the Manhattan Free Press published Volume 1, No. 1.
The paper was 16 pages and was delivered by car to many areas of the
City. After two years a subscription list was developed and mailed.
The Newspaper was also placed at several businesses around town.
In 1994 the Free Press was named a winner in the Kansas Press Assn. Newspaper Contest.
The Free Press stopped publication the first week of January 1997 and
then restarted in June of 1999. We are not 10 years old but we started
publishing 10 years ago. We would like to thank our advertisers and
subscribers.
