Tickest Remain For Navy Commodores Concert

About half the tickets remain for the free Veterans’ Week concert of the U. S. Navy Commodores, according to Dick Jepsen, chairman of the Flint Hills Veterans Coalition.

The concert will be held in the Manhattan Municipal Auditorium at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 4. Ticket holders must claim their seats by 2:50 p.m. After that time if there is still seating available those without tickets will be allowed into the auditorium.

Tickets may be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Chamber of Commerce, P. O. Box 988, Manhattan, KS 66505.

A specialty unit of The United States Navy Band, the Commodores feature 18 of the Navy’s top jazz and big band musicians.

The Commodores have performed at the Detroit Montreux Jazz Festival and the famed Newport Jazz Festival, and toured Central and South America, Europe and the United States.

The group also regularly perform at conventions of the International Association of Jazz Educators, International Trumpet Guild Conference, and the Mid-West International Band and Orchestra Clinic.
