Research Center Adds Archives

The Kansas State Historical Society’s Center for Historical Research recently has added nineteenth century military, pension, and Internal Revenue Service records. These National Archives records, especially useful to genealogists, are catalogued and available for viewing in the Research Room. They include roll lists and are accessible through the electronic cataloguing systems, OCLC and ATLAS.

The microfilm records are: index to pension files of veterans who served between 1861 - 1900, Kansas units only; an index and compiled records showing service of military units in volunteer Union organizations, Kansas units only; Internal revenue assessment lists for Kansas, 1862-1866;
