Read 'Til You're Purple Day

Theodore Roosevelt and Eugene Field students will be "Reading ‘Til Their Purple" this Friday, November 2, as a part of Kevin Lockett’s Read and Achieve Foundation. The entire KSU athletic department, along with Willie the Wildcat and the KSU Cheerleaders, have been invited to participate by bringing their favorite book to share and read with students, grades kindergarten through 6th.

Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School has been a partner in Kevin Lockett’s Read and Achieve Foundation since the fall of 1999. Mr. Lockett visits the school two to three times a year to talk about the importance of reading. The partnership also created family reading nights at Roosevelt, with KSU athletes volunteering their time to read with students and parents.

Read ‘til You’re Purple day kicks off at 9 am at Roosevelt school. Teachers and students are encouraged to wear purple and read, read, read!
