Carriage Ride To Collect Food

The businesses of Downtown Manhattan will provide free horse drawn carriage rides throughout the holiday season to serve as a collection point for donations to the Mayor’s Holiday Food & Fund Drive. The carriage rides will begin on Friday, November 23rd and continue through Saturday, December 22 in Downtown Manhattan. The free horse drawn carriage rides will be offered on Thursday evenings from 4:00 - 7:00,

Friday evenings from 5:00 - 7:00, Saturdays from 11:30 - 1:30 and Sundays from 1:00 - 3:00 with extended hours on Friday, November 23 from 1:00 - 7:00 pm.

Downtown is also offering extended carriage ride hours on the evening of the first annual Downtown Holiday Open House which is November 29, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. In addition to the Carriage rides, there will be Santa, carolers, refreshments, giveaways and specials in each business and a chance to win a $200 gift certificate to the Manhattan Town Center.

The carriage rides will begin on the Plaza at the intersection of 3rd and Poyntz. This is also where you can register to win the $200 gift certificate during the Open House. The rides are free but donations for the Mayors Holiday Food and Fund Drive are requested. All proceeds will benefit the Flint Hills Breadbasket.
