Johnson, Lockett Earn Big 12 Honors

Chris Johnson and Aaron Lockett of Kansas.State were named Monday as the SBC Big 12 Conference Football Defensive and Special Teams
Players of the Week for games played on Nov. 18.

The Wildcat duo joined Offensive Player of the Week Aso Pogi of Oklahoma State as honorees. Johnson set a K-State school record with
four sacks for minus-25 yards to lead the Wildcats to a 28-24 victory at Missouri to clinch the Big 12 North Division championship. Johnson
finished with six tackles overall and five solo stops. He added a pass breakup and forced a fumble that led to a fourth-quarter field goal in the
four-point win.

Johnson now leads K-State with 11 sacks and 24 tackles for losses this season. The Wildcat defense held Missouri to 249 yards in total
offense and preserved a four-point lead throughout the second half to earn the road victory. Johnson joined Monty Beisel as Wildcats who
have won the Big 12 weekly defensive honor in 2000.

Lockett claimed his third conference Special Teams Player of the Week honor. He returned two punts for 59 yards and added four pass
receptions for 84 yards in the Wildcats’ win at Missouri. Lockett, a junior, is second in the nation in punt returns with a 21.6 average on 20
runbacks. Lockett also won the weekly award for Sept. 2 and Sept. 16.

Kanasas State is 10-2 overall and captured the North Division title with a 6-2 mark. The Wildcats play next against Oklahoma in the Dr. Pepper
Big 12 Championship Game on Dec. 2 at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.
