Commissioners Have No Place To Meet

Here we go again. The Riley County Commission learned last week that the
$618,000 they approved to remodel the County Annex Building was short by
$400,000. Monday they learned that now the cost would be $1,078,000.00.
And that is not all. The main floor had housed the Riley County Clerk, the
Riley County Treasurer and the County Commission meeting room. After
spending more than $1 million, the Commission will not have a meeting room.

The Commission have plans to move the Commission meeting room the  old
Southwestern Bell or HTX building. The Commissioners  are saying that the
move will not require remodeling but some department heads who will stay in
the building are already asking for remodeled offices.
