Oleen & Glasscock Met With District

State Senator Lana Oleen and House Majority Leader Kent Glasscock were
guests of Manhattan-Ogden School District Tuesday.
The District held a breakfast for the legislators to discuss the up coming
legislative session. The School District Administration asked Oleen to help
them get a law passed allowing children living less than 2 miles from
school, to ride the bus for a fee.
Glasscock talked about a pilot project for At-Risk students to have School
Choice. He said when his office looked at research on school choice, there
was none. The Kansas Department of Education will design, implement, and
evaluate the viability of a 3-year school choice pilot program for 300
children. The KSDE will report to the legislature.
