Chicago Sculptor To Lecture At Museum Of Art

Barry Tinsley, a Chicago-based sculptor who specializes in large environmental sculptures, will deliver a lecture at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, in The Beach Museum of Art’s UMB Theatre.

Tinsley graduated with master’s of fine arts degree from the University of Iowa. His sculptures are included in many private, public and corporate art collections throughout the United States and Europe. Some of his most famous works may be viewed in the City of Chicago, Broward County (Fla.), the Tweed Museum of Art at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

The Beach Museum of Art is located on the main campus of Kansas State University. The lecture, part of the K-State art department’s 2001-2002 lecture series, is open to the general public and admission is free.
