The City of Manhattan has implemented new rules and regulations for
builders and many are absurd. A dwelling can only cover 35% of a lot
(that's old). The City now requires the square footage of the privacy fence be counted as part of the 35% (that's new). Let's see, a six foot
high fence that is one hundred feet long would be 600 sq. ft....No, No, No, they want the square footage looking down at the top of the fence.
Let's see, the top of a 1"x6" board is really 3/4 of an inch and that is nailed to a 2x4 which is really 3 3/4" times 100 feet, that will be ... well you
get the idea, it's absurd.
