Colbert Hills Events Set For April 29-May 5

Featuring an invitational professional-amateur golf tournament and dedication ceremonies, the activities for the grand opening
of Colbert Hills have been finalized. This celebration will run Sunday through Friday, April 29-May 5.

The official dedication ceremonies will be held Monday, May 1, at 9 a.m. Following the dedication, professional golfers from
THE PGA TOUR, Senior PGA TOUR and LPGA will join with the Colbert Hills Founders for an invitational Pro-Am
Tournament.

Other events for the week include a Founders Tournament on Sunday, April 30; the inaugural Catbackers Tournament and
the public opening of the "Dear Friends: Views of American West" art exhibit in the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art
at Kansas State University, Tuesday, May 2; Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Day, Wednesday, May 3; K-State
Faculty-Staff-Student Day, Thursday, May 4; and K-State alumni volunteer Appreciation Day, Friday, May 5.

"We are very excited about the many outstanding activities that have been scheduled for the dedication of Colbert Hills," said
Monte Griffin, executive director of the K-State Golf Course Management and Research Foundation. "It provides us with an
opportunity to thank our founders and the corporate partners who have helped turn Jim Colbert’s vision into reality.

"However, because Colbert Hills is still undergoing the final phases of construction, we simply will not have the infrastructure
in place to handle participants to the formal dedication activities beyond those who are invited," Griffin said.

"Quite simply, our restroom facilities and parking area will not be able to handle large crowds. In addition, much of the area
where spectators could observe play during the Pro-Am is at a critical point in the growing period of the grass and could be
severely damaged. Therefore, the inaugural events on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday — April 30-May 2 — are by invitation
only and not open to the general public."

Times for public play at Colbert Hills will be available Wednesday through Friday, May 3-5, around the events scheduled as
part of the week-long dedication. Groups interested in reserving tee times for public play may call the Pro Shop at Colbert
Hills, 785-776-6475.

"With finals week beginning May 8, we appreciate that many of our faculty, staff and students will not be able to participate
during the Faculty-Staff-Student Day May 4," Griffin noted. "Therefore, we will provide for a second event for our faculty,
staff and students next fall."
