The Kansas Constitution requires legislative districts to be redrawn every ten (10) years. The City Commission Tuesday night passed a resolution requesting that Manhattan stay in the Second Congressional District.

In order to gain input from citizens of Manhattan the Special Joint Committee of the Kansas Legislature has scheduled a town hall meeting is scheduled in Manhattan on Wednesday, May 30, 2001 to be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the UMB Theater of Kansas State University’s Beach Museum of Art.
