Kansas Has New Travel Web Site

To promote Kansas to travelers from around the globe, the Kansas Department of Commerce & Housing’s (KDOC&H) Travel & Tourism Development Division has redesigned its official online Kansas travel planner.

The web site, www.travelks-.com, has a new look and navigation style. Search options allow quick access to Kansas travel opportunities. Visitors have the option of searching by travel interest or geographic area. They can easily browse coming events and points of interest, or order a Kansas Getaway Guide.

"Our new web site is an essential tool in promoting Kansas travel and tourism," said Lt. Governor/KDOC&H Secretary Gary Sherrer. "More than a hundred million people use the internet to make travel plans. We want their visit to our web site to exceed their expectations, just as a visit to Kansas will exceed their expectations."

Visitors to www.travelks.com will find comprehensive information about Kansas regions, communities, and individual attractions. Communities and attractions have direct access to the web site for entering and updating information.

"We rely on Kansas communities and attractions to provide complete and up-to-date information for the web site," said Travel & Tourism Director Jeff Mercer. "They are important partners in making the web site a success and bringing more tourism dollars into the state."

Direct links to Kansas travel destinations are also provided on www.travelks.com. For information on the official online Kansas travel planner, including submitting or updating a listing, contact LeAnn Stephens in the Travel & Tourism Division at (785) 296-6292 or lstephens@kansas-commerce.com.

The KDOC&H is the state’s lead economic development organization, responsible for ensuring economic opportunities for all Kansans.
