Some members of the Manhattan City Commission would like to consider flying the City of Manhattan flag in place of the United Nations flag.

An e-mail received by the Free Press asks citizens to call or e-mail City Manager Ron Fehr and ask that the matter be put on the Commission agenda. The phone number for Fehr is 587-2489 and his e-mail address is (fehr@ci.manhattan.-ks.us)

Part of the e-mail states: "The United Nations flag is currently flying over Manhattan City Hall. Many people in Manhattan do not agree with the philosophies of the UN and believe it is time to lower the UN flag and raise the City of Manhattan Flag."
