Manhattan will join veterans everywhere in Memorial Day Services on Monday, May 28. The days events will get started at 8:00 at the lake in Anneberg Park. The Flinthills Detachment of the Marine Corp League will conduct a Memorial Day Ceremony of "Burial at Sea".
The event will Feature:
• Skydiving presentation of The American Flag.
• Speakers talk of "Burial at Sea".
• Prayers and Invocation
• Three volleys by the American Legion Rifle Team.
• wreath to be thrown in lake while taps are being Played.
Everyone is welcome to attend this unusual service in memory of service men and women who have been lost at sea.
Another Memorial Day Service will take place at Sunset Cemetery starting at 9:30 a.m. Monday. The American Legion and Auxiliary will conduct the ceremony. The Ceremonies start at 10:00 a.m. In case of rain, services will be held in the American Legion Hall.
