Manhattan Sunset Zoo Is Going "Hog Wild"

Summer will be here before we know it! Plan to kick off your summer at Sunset Zoo.

This year Sunset Zoo is "going hog wild" with the introduction of warthogs into our collection. These unique creatures will be
spending their summer vacation right here in Manhattan. Be one of the first to see the warthogs and enjoy a good old fashion
barbecue!!

On Friday, May 26, 2000, Sunset Zoo will host the first annual ZOO-B-Q. For only $5 per person you will enjoy a
barbecue under the zoo pavilion and be the first to catch a glimpse of the warthogs. Enjoy beef ribs or chicken, potato salad,
and baked beans between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Advance tickets for the barbecue are available at the Sunset Zoo ticket
booth for $5 each. Tickets can also be purchased the evening of the event. Ticket price includes admission into the zoo and
dinner. Friends of Sunset Zoo will receive a $1 discount with a valid membership card.

Regular zoo admission will apply for all that are not eating dinner.

Saturday, May 27, 2000, the fun continues at the zoo with our first annual "community fair." Come learn more about fun,
creative ways to spend your summer from organizations that are right here in Manhattan. Catch a skate board demonstration
by the youth of our community that are eager to raise money to build a skate park here in Manhattan’s city park. There will
be carnival games and live animal programs. The community fair and carnival games will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue
until 5:30 p.m. However the fun doesn’t end there! Stay to help us dedicate our new amphitheater "Chatuaqua." Festivities
for the dedication are planned to continue until 8:30 p.m.
