Fibrosis Foundation

The Manhattan Great Strides 2001 Walk will be Saturday, May 5, 2001. The walk will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and will start at the North side of Manhattan City Park. Registration is at 8:00 a.m. with the walk starting at 9.

Open Meeting

Thanks to new City Commissioners Mark Taussig and Brad Everett the 5:30 City Commission meeting has moved to the commission chambers from the back room.

For the past four years the Commission has met in the back room to conduct City business. The meeting met all of the State criteria for an open meeting but citizens would not attend because the meeting looked closed.

At Tuesday's meeting citizens arriving early for the 7:00 o'clock meeting did not come into the chambers because the Commissioners were eating but at least it is out of the back room.

Come-on-in the City Commission meeting is open.

Safe Home Expo is Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Pottorf Hall in CICO Park.
