Mercy Health Center Looking For Teen Volunteers

Mercy Health Center is looking for a few good Teens as they gearing up for their summer VolunTeen Program. Volunteers will be assigned in various hospital departments to work one 4-hour shift per week through out the summer, June 12 to August 16.

"This is an excellent opportunity for teens to learn more about working in the Health Industry," said Debbie Guillen, Director Guest Services. "Our teens are such a valuable resource in our community that we look forward to having them work with us as volunteers through the summer."

"As the need for healthcare professionals grows both locally and nationally, it is our hope that teens will gain knowledge to help them make decisions about their future careers and the community they live in, while having fun and making a difference through this volunteer opportunity," said April Hamilton, community relations and planning coordinator.

Teens interested in this unique opportunity must be between the ages of 14 and 19 years of age this summer to apply. All applicants will be required to take a tuberculosis skin test during orientation on June 10th and provide proof of childhood immunizations.

Applications for the summer volunteer program are available at both Mercy Health Center campuses main lobby areas located at 1823 College Avenue and 1105 Sunset Avenue in Manhattan.

Applications will be accepted from Monday until Monday June 3.
