Chamber Names Five To Committee

The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that the following community business leaders have been selected to serve as Co-Chairs for the Advance Division of Advantage Manhattan.

Roger Sink, Public Accountant, Sink, Gillmore & Gordon LLP, Michael Shilling, President, Shilling Construction Co., Inc., Larry Heyka, President, First Savings Bank, Russ Briggs, President, Briggs Auto Group, Inc. and Neil Horton, VP/CEO, Bayer Construction Co.

Advantage Manhattan is a five-year program to pay for the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce’s economic development program.

The goal of Advantage Manhattan is $1.7 million for Economic Development in Manhattan. The campaign will begin this fall and will raise the amount with private money.

The idea is to create new jobs and to help diversify the local economy. Advantage Manhattan will help expand the tax base by capital investment.

The campaign to fund the new economic development agenda will be presented to the business community at a kickoff event scheduled for late August.
