7th Annual Youth Fishing Clinic Aug 3,4

Tuttle Creek Lake Association will host their seventh annual youth fishing clinic on August 3, and 4, 2001. The Association will take 200 youth between the ages of 8 & 12 years that have not previously attended one of the clinics. All participants must preregister by mailing in an application. Youth need not be residents of Manhattan to participate.

Activities will begin August 3, at 6:30 p.m. at Susan B. Anthony Middle School, 2501 Browning Ave. Registration will be from 6:30 7:00 p.m. Manhattan Director of Parks & Recreation, Terry DeWeese will be the guest speaker.

A round robin of classes consisting of seven stations the youth will attend ranging from safety to fishing etiquette lasting until approximately 9:00 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded to all youths that participated in the clinic.

Activities will reconvene on Saturday August 4, starting at 9:30 a.m. at Anneberg Park Lake, 3601 Anderson Ave. Fishing will begin at 10:00 a.m. and run through 12:30 p.m. At that time Modern Woodmen Insurance will provide lunch.

Each youth registering and attending both sessions will receive a free Zebco Rod and Reel combination.
