Martin Named Research Director For District 383

The Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 Personnel Office announced this morning that Lori Martin will assume the position of Director/Coordinator of Research, Assessment and Evaluation for USD 383 beginning July 30, 2001.

Lori Martin will replace Kevin Emery, who is returning to a school psychologist position for the district.

Martin will split her time between her new position and her current position as principal of Bluemont Elementary School. An administrative assistant will be hired for Bluemont Elementary who is well versed with the needs of the Bluemont community, the special education programs based in the school, and the successful staff development program.

Martin has been the principal at Bluemont since August of 2000. She received her bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Educational Administration also from Kansas State University. She had previously served as the Clay County principal and curriculum director from 1993-2000 and was the principal at Riley County grade school from 1988-1992.

"I’m honored and excited to take on a new professional challenge. Assessment is such an important part of what we do in education today" stated Martin. "Assessment measures our strengths, areas for improvement, and identifies the individual needs of our students so we can personalize the educational experience".
