Finance Director Steps Down
You can say good-by to Curt Wood. He has been Director of Finance for
the City of Manhattan for fifteen years. August 11
will be his last day.
Wood told the Free Press that he has been excepted at the University
of Kansas to work on his PHD. He said it would take
four years to complete.
Wood said it would be hard to leave Manhattan because he raised his
family here. He has been teaching part time at Kansas
State University and at Fort Riley in government and would like to
teach at the college level full time.
Wood and the City of Manhattan have won many awards over the past fifteen
years for financial reporting. Tuesday night the
City Commission passed a $59.1 million Budget which will the last for
Wood.
