A dazzling new musical revue is coming to the Manhatttan Arts Center!
For three performances only, Aug. 23, 24 at 8 pm and Aug. 25 at 2 pm, the Center will present "Charles & Company," featuring a jazz trio with Charles Faulk at the piano, Michael T. Brown on bass and Jeremy Pape on drums.
The show stars seven top-notch singers and entertainers: Linda Uthoff, Cynthia Fitzgerald, Rich Richards, David Ollington, Michael Parker, Tyler Woods and Charissa Bertels. The setting is a 1940s-style nightclub, the songs are standards from the 1930s and 1940s. For fun and nostalgia and beautiful music, this is a show not to be missed.
The director is Maggie Jackson, musical direction by Charles Faulk, the team that brought you last year’s memorable hit "Encore! Encore!"
Tickets are $15 (adults), $12 (students) and $7 (children 12 and under). For reservations and information about sponsorship opportunities, call the Center, 1520 Poyntz, at 537-4240.
August 23 is also the opening of the new exhibits in the Arts Center
galleries: "Visualizing the Character" with costume designs by Dana Pinkston
and "Sensory Costume" by Sherry Haar of KSU’s Department of Apparel, Textiles
and Interior Design. The exhibition will be open until September 29.
