Wal-Mart: It's In The Mail

Attorney Joe Knopp did not tell the Manhattan City Commission anything they didn't already know Tuesday night, but he let the citizens in on a secret.

Knopp told the Commission that the plans for the new Wal-Mart Super Store are in the mail and will be in the hands of City Staff by Friday afternoon. Friday is the deadline for items to be put on the October Planning Board Agenda.

Wal-Mart has purchased a large section of land north of their present store. The new store will also carry groceries.

In a meeting last November store officials told adjacent landowners that the new store would be complete eight months after the City Commission votes approval.
