Security Screening Starts At Manhattan Regional Airport

The Manhattan Regional Airport announces that beginning August 24, 2002, all airline passengers departing from Manhattan Regional Airport will be security screened. The addition of security screening at the Manhattan Regional Airport is due to the reopening of Terminal A at the Kansas City International Airport and a Kansas City Aviation Department requirement that all US Airways incoming passengers from Manhattan be screened under the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations.

Ticketed passengers departing from Manhattan Regional

Airport are encouraged to arrive at least 60 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time. This will allow for baggage and carry on items to be security screened.

Although this new security screening procedure adds a few extra minutes at the Airport, the Manhattan Regional

Airport is still a smart start over driving two hours to a nearby metropolitan airport and having to arrive two hours ahead of departure times.
