Purple Power On Poyntz

Kick Off Is Next Thursday

Kick off the 2000 K-State football season with a party on Poyntz Thursday August 31 and Friday September 1, 2000.

Here are the activities:

Thursday, Aug. 31

Activities begin at 5 p.m.

• Great food and lots of activities

• Varney’s Inflatable Carnival

• 3-on-3 Basketball Contest - Q103.5 and Big Kat 94.5

• Lambda Chi Chariot Relays and Watermelon Bust

• News Source 49 KTKA-TV Coca Cola Sports Challenge and 6 p.m. live broadcast

• 1350 KMAN/ 101.5 KROCK/ B104.7 Dunk Tank and High Striker

• Q103.5 Wheel of Fortune

• Big Kat 94.5 Pop-A-Shot

• 106.9 Twister Prize Tunnel

• K-State Alumni Association and Q103.5 K-State living group attendance contest

• Photos with Willie the Wildcat from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per instant photo.

• Live music begins at 5 p.m. on two stages. Cox Communications (West) Stage features: Sharkey’s Little Groove Box,
Ruskabank. INTRUST Bank (East) Stage features: Washington Dance Studio, Dave Stephens Swing Band.

• Pep Rally featuring KSU football team captains, Coach Bill Snyder, KSU Marching Band, Classy Cats, Cheerleaders

• Purple Power Sale at Manhattan Town Center from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 1

Dance Studio, Dustin Evans, King Midas.

• Pep Rally featuring KSU Pep Band, Cheerleaders, Classy Cats, Willie the Wildcat and guest speakers.

• Fireworks/Pyrotechnic show on Poyntz sponsored by INTRUST Bank.
