With the help of Kent Glasscock of Manhattan, Wichita Mayor Bob Knight received the most votes for Governor in Riley County but ended up with only 29 percent state wide. That was good for third place behind winner State Treasurer Tim Shallenburger and Senate President Dave Kerr.
Shallenburger will now run against the Democrat winner Kathleen Sebelius.
About the same thing happened for Kansas Attorney General where David
Adkins won in Riley County but lost to Phill Kline state-wide.
