Aviation Show This Weekend

The Manhattan Regional Airport will be participating in the 2002 Aerospace and Aviation show held this weekend in the center court of the Manhattan Town Center. A unique feature of the Manhattan Regional Airport’s booth will be a Design-a-Plane contest. This contest invites children to decorate a balsa wood glider-found at the Airport and at the Aerospace and Aviation Show (in the Airport’s booth)- and vie for prizes. "Designers" will compete in four competition categories ranging from preschool to 5th/6th grades. Planes will be judged and contest winners announced Sunday afternoon.

The Manhattan Regional Airport will host an information table and Air Traffic Control display. Exhibits featuring "Operation Hickory Sting", remote control planes, and other aviation related businesses will be available to explore.
