Representatives To Speak At KSU Lecture

Kansas State University students will have the chance to hear two influential Kansans at the first Construction Science Seminar Series session of the semester.

Guest speakers at the event will be Speaker of the Kansas House of Representatives and gubernatorial candidate Kent Glasscock (R-Manhattan), and Corey Peterson, executive vice president of the Associated General Contractors of Kansas.

Each will give a general overview of the construction industry’s effect on local and national economies and review some of the issues facing the industry now and in the future.

"I think it is important that students in the construction science and management program have a general understanding of short-term and long-term issues facing the construction industry," said David Fritchen, head of the department of architectural engineering and construction science. "There are many career paths in the construction industry and this kind of information may help them in planning their future endeavors."

The department of architectural engineering and construction science is sponsoring the series, which will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in the K-State Student Union Forum Hall.
