The Manhattan Economic Development Opportunity Fund Advisory Board (MEDOFAB) earned their money Wednesday. The group which recommends to the Manhattan City Commission how they should spend the 1/2 cent sales tax money, held a meeting with Mercy Community Health Foundation, and the meeting went from 8:30 a.m. to 1:10 p.m.

Mercy Hospital was asking for $1,000,000 economic money. They were asking for $200,000 a year for five years.

The MEDOFAB Board voted in the end to give $500,000 to the hospital now and match one dollar of city money for every five dollars the hospital raises by donations.
