Blue and Gold BanquetFebruary 28, 2008 6pm Woodrow Wilson Gym Celebrating the Birthday of Scouting! The Pack 273 Blue and Gold Banquet is one of the highlights of the program year. It is a family affair that brings the pack together in a way that regular pack meetings don't. This year's theme for the Blue and Gold Banquet as well as the theme for February 2008 activities is Chinese New Year. A blue and gold banquet is a birthday dinner for the Cub Scouting program, held during February. February is the anniversary month of the Boy Scouts of America, which was organized in February 1910. The Cub Scouts were organized 20 years later in 1930. The Pack 273 Blue and Gold Banquet, held in the Woodrow Wilson Elementary gym, is typically a catered affair where the dens sit together with their families. Our Pack also encourages Cub Scouts to invite their teachers to the banquet as honored guests. For the Webelos Two Cub Scouts, this is an
especially important evening because this is their evening to cross over from
Cub Scouts into Boy Scouts. This is also the evening that the Arrow of
Light is also awarded. |
