KCKA MEMBER NOTES: The Main Salmon River, Middle
Fork of the Salmon River, Selway River, and Snake River all share a website at

Land Management
Moab Field Office
82 E. Dogwood
Moab, UT 84532
(435) 259-7012
KCKA MEMBER NOTES: There
no longer is a permit application. They went to a 2-month call ahead reservation
system. 25-PERSON LIMIT, $7/PERSON FEE. Despite my initial reservations, the new system actually works
pretty well with the calendar posted & updated on-line. BTW, all kayak groups must
now carry a "solid
waste" day-use "screw-top plastic Tupperware type container or a Pelican
waterproof box for each group of kayaks, so don't be caught out
at the Westwater put-in without one.

KCKA MEMBER NOTES: Call or write to
request a permit application in December, due by January 31st. We suggest
you apply for trip dates between May 1st & August 1st for the best flows and
weather conditions.
KCKA MEMBER NOTES: Get your checkbook out and
call a commercial outfitter because the NPS permit system is
currently being rewritten and is not currently accepting new private
applications. The new Colorado River Management Plan is currently
scheduled for completion and implementation in 2006
